Bank protection and embankment improvement of the Pyakupur River, Tarko-Sale

The project envisaged the creation of an urban recreational zone with a total area of 7.5 ha on the bank of the Pyakupur River and was implemented in 2 phases. The embankment is located in the south-west direction from the city, with a total length of 1831 meters. 

The embankment is a whole complex of structures, including a retaining wall made of tubular metal sheeting, granite fences with decorative inserts, a stairway to the water, viewing platforms, a granite-covered walking area, lighting, video surveillance system. After the construction was completed, an amphitheater and a sculpture of a deer appeared on the embankment. All engineering structures and landscaping elements are united in a common architectural composition.

Terms of realization of the 1st stage of the project: 2012-2018, 2nd stage – 2018-2023. The customer was the State Institution "Directorate of Capital Construction and Investments of the YNAO", the general contractor – Production Company VIS.

On the open embankment, specialists of VIS Production Company have performed a large amount of work. At the initial stage earthworks, filling and leveling of the territory, works on deepening and strengthening of the river bottom were performed. The most complicated works were related to the construction of sheet pile wall. It protects the new embankment from permanent collapse and erosion from wave action. Installation of anchor rods and protective slabs with granite facing, construction of reinforced concrete structures of the retaining wall, descents to the water, stairs, overpasses were carried out.

A large complex of works on improvement included paving of a promenade zone with granite slabs with the total area over 30 thousand square meters, installation of 3,3 km of granite curbs, works on gardening on the area of 13,2 thousand square meters, arrangement of storm water drainage and lighting, video surveillance system. The length of granite fencing with decorative inserts was more than 925 meters.

The implementation of the project allowed to form a safe coastline in the city limits and create a new urban attraction.
