Such specially equipped horizontal platforms are used for the assembly and installation of structures, for example, large vessels. In this case, the slipway will allow for the large-scale assembly of 17-meter cofferdams before their installation in the riverbed. They will be assembled on the shore, carefully sealed and prepared for launching using special pneumatic roller bags. The cofferdams will allow work to be carried out even in the difficult hydrological conditions of the Lena River - with its strong current, ice drift or seasonal fluctuations in the water level. All of the metal structures for the cofferdams - a total of 4,560 tons of metal - have been delivered from Tyumen to Yakutsk.
The construction site was visited today by the Chairman of the Government of the Republic, Kirill Bychkov. He was briefed on the progress of the work by Anton Krupnov, Director of VIS Group’s construction project: “To date, the pile foundation for the first bridge supports No. 4-6 has been installed on the left bank; a total of 69 piles have been concreted. On the right bank, the installation of the first two bored piles for support No. 29, which exceed 41 meters in length, has been completed. Stamp tests are being conducted on support No. 26.”
The reconstruction of the Tamma River bed is also being completed; builders have begun constructing the overflow dam of the East Khaptagay channel.
“The work is being carried out in accordance with the established seasonal allowances. This year, we plan to install the first four supports. We expect that by the end of the year, a significant amount of construction work will have been completed on the main riverbed part of the bridge,” said Kirill Bychkov. He emphasized that the successful implementation of the project will connect remote areas, which in turn will create new business opportunities and improve the quality of life of local residents.
The Lena Bridge is one of the most complex infrastructure projects in modern Russia. It will become the most important transport artery of the entire Far Eastern region of Russia and for the first time will provide year-round communication across the Lena River for residents of Yakutia. The project is being implemented with the involvement of extra-budgetary investments. VIS Group is the investor, concessionaire and general contractor for the construction. The concessionaire is the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
Cofferdams for the Lena Bridge will be assembled and floated using shipbuilding technologies
The construction of a slipway section where floating cofferdams will be assembled has begun at the construction site of the bridge crossing over the Lena River in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The work has been launched at technological site No. 2 on the left bank. The area was previously filled with sand, and its base is currently being reinforced with a layer of crushed stone, on which reinforced concrete slabs are mounted.Such specially equipped horizontal platforms are used for the assembly and installation of structures, for example, large vessels.
