Installation of stage equipment begins at the Arctic Center in Yakutsk

The construction readiness of the building of the State Philharmonic and the Arctic Center for Epic Literature and the Arts in Yakutsk has exceeded 70%. Heating has been turned on, work is underway to install internal partitions, and installation of stage equipment has already begun in the Philharmonic Hall.

VIS Group specialists have begun assembling and installing metal structures of the special lifting mechanism for the orchestra pit of the Philharmonic Hall stage. It will allow to hold concerts and special productions in different modes. The symphony orchestra can be placed either at the stage level or in the orchestra pit.

The hall of the State Philharmonic of Yakutia is designed for 700 spectators. Its acoustic characteristics make it suitable for holding philharmonic concerts and events with a symphony orchestra. The technological stage solutions include mechanization of the lower orchestra and choir area with the opportunity to transform them into one level, as well as mechanization of the upper area – spotlights, point and decorative lifts. Thanks to the mechanical system for orchestra pit transformation onto different levels, it is possible to accommodate a large symphony orchestra.

Immediately behind the stage, there will be a large rehearsal hall, which, thanks to its acoustic capabilities, can be used not only for rehearsals, but also for studio recordings of the orchestra and performers. The rehearsal hall will also serve as a chamber hall designed for 100 listeners.

During the past summer construction season, builders have fully completed the installation of metal roof structures over the rehearsal and philharmonic halls. The total weight of roof structures exceeded 180 tons. The roof "pie", which includes several layers of waterproofing and insulating materials, is being completed. The roof will house an area with an amphitheater and viewing platforms, where visitors will be transported by elevator.

The project to create a cultural cluster is being implemented on the principles of public-private partnership based on an agreement between the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and VIS Group, which is responsible for the full cycle from design and construction to attracting extra-budgetary financing and technical operation of the complex. Gazprombank is the project’s financial partner. The complex being created on the shore of Lake Saisary will become a new growth point for the republican capital; it is included in the master plan for the development of Yakutsk.
