Khabarovsk Bypass motorway appears on Yandex and Google maps

Images of the Khabarovsk Bypass road have appeared on the maps of the Yandex and Google search engines. This major transport investment project in the Russian Far East is being implemented by VIS Group. Not only can the outline of the future highway be seen on the satellite photos, but the extent of the already completed works can be evaluated as well – the establishment of the soil roadbed, and road junction and toll point sites.

In December 2016, a concession agreement regarding the construction and maintenance of the paid auto highway known as the Khabarovsk Bypass was signed by the Government of the Khabarovsk Krai and OOO Regional Concession Company (part of VIS Group). Construction has begun in September 2017 and unfolded along the entire span of the highway. Approximately 16% of the total work volume has been completed as of now. According to the specialists of the Regional Concession Company, by the end of 2018 this indicator will reach 28%. The completion of construction is slated for 2020.

Innovative auto road construction technologies are implemented in the course of the creating the auto road. The structure of the road comprises the sand roadbed, frost-proof drainage layer, top and bottom foundation layers, as well as top and bottom asphalt concrete layers with improved durability. A total volume of approximately 10 million cubic meters of stone and sand will be used in the fill. The project stipulates for a dividing strip made of metal barriers and a similar enclosure. Soundproof acoustic screens will be installed along the areas of the road near residential homes and buildings. Streetlights that have been manufactured with regard to the region's climate peculiarities will be installed along the entire span of the Khabarovsk Bypass.

The total length of the road will comprise 26.8 kilometers. The 15-meter-wide road surface, 4 lanes and the maximum allowed speed of 120 km/hr will allow to let 31,000 cars through daily. The auto highway will pass through 5 junctions, 24 bridges and a viaduct.
