This high-speed motorway with an estimated speed of up to 120 km/h is the first one of its kind in the Russian Far East, with special attention paid to safety and excellent service quality. A Russian company developed customized software for the automated traffic control system (ATCS) with regard to the regional geographical and climatic features.
Jobs have been created for engineers, technicians, cashiers and operators to maintain this intelligent system. The Khabarovsk Bypass highway is operated by OOO Transtoll, established by the VIS Group as part of a concession project. Company personnel currently comprises 156 employees, all of them are residents of the Khabarovsk Territory. ATCS operators have already been trained and started to work, which is organized around the clock.
Traffic management will be carried out using an intelligent system. For this purpose, 78 surveillance and control video cameras, 88 electronic scoreboards and alternating information signs, 23 traffic detectors, as well as 8 complexes for recording violations and a weather station were installed along the 27-kilometer route.
The system will ensure safety and predictable traffic control on the road. It includes all levels of control and analytics of incoming data: from analyzing the intensity and composition of the traffic flow to controlling the speed limit, recording offenses and warning users about the weather situation.
Under the terms of the agreement with the government of the Khabarovsk Territory, VIS Group, the investor and concessionaire of the project, will operate the road until the end of 2031, ensuring its normative all-season maintenance and serviceability of all maintenance systems.
