The project was implemented by VIS Group as a concession. Under the terms of the agreement with the government of the Khabarovsk Territory, Transtall (part of VIS Group) carries out the specialized operation of the road.
The region is currently considering the prospect of extending the highway to the checkpoint across the state border with China on Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island. Connecting it with the highway network of the neighboring country will significantly increase traffic, create a new international transport corridor and make the most efficient use of the existing infrastructure. This was stated by the Deputy Chairman of the regional government for infrastructure, Irina Gorbacheva: “The opening of the checkpoint on the island will allow us to increase the region’s international transit potential, create opportunities for additional development of the transport and logistics infrastructure of the Khabarovsk Territory. The Khabarovsk Bypass toll road will also get a second life with a new passenger and freight flow in the direction of Bolshoy Ussuriysky."
VIS Group is ready for increased traffic. This year, the maximum permitted speed was increased from 90 to 110 km per hour, and the option of contactless transponder payment for travel was introduced. Currently, the holding is preparing to launch the work of the accident commissioner service on the highway.
Under the terms of the concession agreement, VIS Group will operate the road until the end of 2031.
