One of the key projects presented at the forum’s exhibition is VIS Group’s concession for the construction of a bridge across the Ob River in Novosibirsk. The largest road concession in Siberia includes the construction of both the bridge itself and an entire complex of road approaches, tunnels and multi-level interchanges. Essentially it entails the creation of a modern no-traffic-light high-speed chord in Novosibirsk to connect the two parts of the metropolis on the two banks of the Ob River. The estimated daily traffic is 60,000 cars with a projected speed of 100 km/hr.
On the first day of the forum, the booth of VIS Group, (the project’s investor and concessionaire) was visited by Vladimir Znatkov, First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Novosibirsk Region, Valery Ilyenko, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly’s Committee on Transport, Industrial and Information Policy, and representatives of the Deputy Corps of the Legislative Assembly. Dmitry Pronchatov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of VIS Group’s Transportation Division, Vladislav Vavilin, Deputy CEO of VIS Production Company, and Evgeny Firsov, Deputy CEO of the Siberian Concession Company, discussed the project’s progress and plans for the construction season.
Large-scale construction has been launched on both banks, with 1,340 builders, workers and specialists, as well as over 100 units of special equipment, engaged in the work. Over 50 machines and mechanisms are operating at the construction site around the clock. The sliding of superstructures over the river bed is fully completed. Traffic was launched on the C2 exit last year at the right-bank traffic junction, and on June 15, 2022, the C1 exit from the Ippodromskaya street was also commissioned according to a permanent scheme. The right-bank transport interchange, the Zyryanovsky overpass, as well as the main passage overpass and the tunnel overpass under the Trans-Siberian Railway tracks on the left bank are over 60% ready.
The work on concreting the right and left posts of the 114-meter pylon is 60% complete. Concreting of 19 out of 29 grips at a height of 76 meters is underway, the completion of work is scheduled for November 2022. The assembly of the 380-meter cable-stayed section continues, and the temporary supports, on which this bridge span section is being placed in stages at a height of 13 meters from the ground, have been installed. The completion of the metal superstructure assembly is scheduled for December 2022. Starting in July 2022, the installation of pavement will begin at certain sections of interchanges and the main course of the route; in September - at the bridge crossing itself.
This year the Siberian Transport Forum brought together about 5,000 participants and 200 speakers. As part of the business program, they will discuss the construction of transport infrastructure, the realization of the potential of Siberia’s transport and logistics complex and the digital transformation of transport in the regions. The forum will be attended by Aide to the President of the Russian Federation Igor Levitin, Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Vitaly Savelyev and Governor of the Novosibirsk Region Andrey Travnikov.
