The pertinent agreement was signed today at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum by Chairman of the Board of Directors of VIS Group Igor Snegurov and Vice President of China Construction First Group Corporation LLC (part of China State Construction Engineering Corp, CSCEC) Wei Yang. The main area of the two companies’ cooperation will be transport infrastructure projects within Russia.
The signed document stipulates the conditions of long-term cooperation in the field of infrastructure construction, as well as the mutual exchange of information, accumulated experience and technological expertise. Chinese partners are interested in both participating in VIS Group’s ongoing projects and developing the holding’s new private concession initiatives. Today, the Group in committed to investment transport projects in several Russian regions, with a total cost of over 200 billion rubles.
“CSCEC is well known in the Russian market as a reliable and competent partner. We are interested in the development of business cooperation and joint implementation of infrastructure projects that are important for Russia’s social and economic development. CSCEC’s experience and thorough expertise in the field of innovative technological solutions will prove useful in the holding’s projects,” shared Igor Snegurov.
China Civil Engineering Corporation (China State Construction Engineering Corp, CSCEC) is the largest company in the PRC that specializes in the construction of railways and high-speed roads, airports, bridges, tunnels and skyscrapers. Over 90% of the skyscrapers in China are built by CSCEC. In Russia, the corporation participated in the construction of the Federation Tower in Moscow, which became the first skyscraper in Europe with a concrete framework. CSCEC is among the 500 largest enterprises in the world according to Fortune magazine and ranks first among 250 global contractors according to ENR.
