SPIEF-2019: VIS Group and the Republic of Bashkortostan intend to cooperate in the public-private partnership sphere

An investment agreement between the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan and VIS Group at the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg was signed by Acting Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Bashkortostan Ilshat Tazhitdinov and member of the Board of Directors of VIS Group Sergey Romashov.

The main declared objective of the parties’ collaboration is to assist in solving problems of attracting investments into the republic’s economy, developing and effectively implementing investment projects in the republic.

VIS Group began signing such agreements several years ago. This work has already resulted in major investment projects implemented in the Khabarovsk Krai, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Yugra, Moscow and Novosibirsk regions.

“Bashkiria has an excellent potential in the public-private partnership sphere, and we are ready to start developing several joint projects in various sectors. We are off to a great start, and a lot of interesting work lies ahead, entailing the preparation and implementation of investment projects that are important to the republic,” Sergei Romashov stated at the signing ceremony.

The regional PPP-Standard has been implemented in Bashkortostan since 2015, a corresponding regulatory framework in the field of public-private partnership has been established, educational programs have been conducted for relevant state authority specialists, local self-government and organizations. At the end of 2018, Bashkortostan ranked at a high 12th place in the investment rating of Russian regions, and was rated among top five Russian regions in terms of the development of public-private partnerships.

The parties agreed to hold joint events in the near future in order to establish information exchange and operational work in specific business spheres. Among them is the establishment of transport, industrial and social infrastructure facilities.
