The International Transport Infrastructure Forum opens in St. Petersburg with the support of VIS Group

On November 27-30, the International Transport Forum and Exhibition is held in St. Petersburg. VIS Group is the official partner of the event. Alan Bugulov, Deputy General Director for Development of VIS Production Company, and Sergey Kozlovsky, Head of the Corporate Communications Department of the Group, represent the corporation at the event.

At the opening ceremony forum guests were greeted by the Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg Igor Albin. He expressed gratitude to all the participating companies that supported the city transport industry’s pilot event.

The forum’s business program includes over 15 specialized conferences and panel discussions. The plenary session became the key event of the first day, and included addresses by the Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg Igor Albin, Minister of Transport of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Karpov, State Duma Deputy Oleg Nilov, Acting Chairman of the Committee for the Development of Transport Infrastructure of St. Petersburg Mikhail Korolev. The discussion participants debated the need to create a core regional road network and new socially significant transport infrastructure facilities, as well as the issues of fundraising for such projects, including engagement of private investment.

In his plenary meeting speech, Alan Bugulov, Deputy CEO for Development of PF VIS, said: "VIS Group has extensive experience in the transport sector in many Russian regions. The holding’s concessions were among the first to receive co-financing from the PLATON system, and are being successfully implemented. We see that the regions are in great need of transport infrastructure modernization. Today we have over 10 regional transport projects in the works, including those that are part of a private concession initiative. It is important to synchronize the needs of the regions and the federal center’s plans for industry development and creation of priority project determination mechanisms that are transparent and comprehensible to the business community.”

The forum is being held in St. Petersburg for the first time, and is intended to become a platform where Russian and foreign infrastructure companies, manufacturers of materials and equipment, investors and government representatives can develop common operation directions, share the best practices in the implementation and large-scale development of advanced technologies and innovative materials in transport industry projects. The event takes place at the Lenexpo site.
