The superstructure of the bridge across the Ob in Novosibirsk is being installed in the design position

In Novosibirsk, work has begun on installing the span structure of the channel section of the bridge across the Ob into the design position. The work on its sliding was completed at the end of March 2022, now the builders will have to carry out an equally complex technological operation – to lower the 776-meter structure that weighs over 10,000 tons by 2.8 meters. The works started from the central support located in the middle of the river bed. Using special jacks, the multi-ton structure will be gradually brought into the design position within two months. The channel section of the bridge crossing consists of two 120-meter spans, located at a height of 13.5 m from the water. They will ensure unhindered navigation for all types of river vessels.

Today, 520 people and over 80 units of equipment and equipment are engaged in bridge construction carried out by VIS Group. Concreting of floor slabs of the Zyryanovsky overpass has been completed on the right bank of the Ob, and the next step will involve pavement installation. The bridge’s pylon posts are concreted to a height of 76 and 80 meters (19 and 20 grips), respectively. At the level of the 19th grips, the installation of the H-shaped upper jumper of the pylon will begin, symbolizing the first letter of Novosibirsk in Russian.

At the left-bank road junction, retaining walls of eight ramps are being built at the same time in the area of Stationnaya and Vatutina streets. The installation of bored support piles and metal structures, as well as the concreting of roadway slabs are carried out here. Temporary bypass roads were put into operation around Energetikov Square for the duration of the work. 37 pillars and 4 retaining walls on the flyover of the left-bank transport interchange will be built and 1200 tons of basic metal structures will be mounted by the end of the year.

Works under the bridge concession are carried out simultaneously at eight technological sites. It is one of the largest construction projects in Siberia today. The project investor is the VIS Group, the financial partner of the concession is Gazprombank. The overall construction readiness of the bridge and associated transport infrastructure today exceeds 55%, which is in line with the construction schedule.
