VIS Group’s builders have completed the installation of one of three metal structures symbolizing the ancient summer home of the Yakuts. The urasas will be located on the roof of the cultural cluster under construction in Yakutsk. Preparations are currently underway to install one more structure.
The design of building, which will house the State Philharmonic and the Arctic Center for Epic Literature and the Arts, incorporates the national style, traditions and cultural heritage of the region. The architecture of the 33,000-m2 complex resembles the reliefs common in the vast territory of the republic. A round glass lake has already been installed on the roof, crowning the large atrium of the entrance group. The structures that resemble urasas will house a multimedia, ritual and theater halls. An amphitheater for outdoor performances will be built on the roof space in front of them.
As part of the project, each urasa is being built in stages. After installing the metal frame, 5 layers resistant to moisture and seasonal temperature changes are mounted on the structure. In addition, the roof "pie" includes a ventilated gap, which will additionally ensure the reliability and durability of the façade and improve the thermal insulation of the building. For interior finishing work in the coming winter, the urasas will be temporarily protected with a wind and moisture protection film; in the final version, it is planned to use white folded panels that symbolize the birch bark used to sheathe the urasas. The total weight of the completed structures will be 140 tons.
The cultural cluster on the shore of Lake Saisary is being built by VIS Group on the principles of public-private partnership. This will circumvent a one-time burden on the republican budget during construction and redistribute costs over a long period. Under the terms of the agreement with the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the private partner is responsible for design, construction, attracting extra-budgetary financing and subsequent technical operation of the facility. VIS Group will ensure the commissioning of a fully finished building, equipped with modern engineering, stage equipment, furniture and inventory.
