The proposed investment project is expected to be implemented with the use of extra-budgetary funds under the principles of public-private partnership. The new metro line, which would comprise 6 stations, may run through Pulkovo Airport to the satellite town of Yuzhny. The implementation of the project will ensure comfortable transport accessibility of one of Russia’s largest international airports, provide access to the city subway network for residents of the satellite town of Pushkin, significantly reduce the burden on the Pulkovskoye Highway, and will contribute to the development of promising areas of the northern capital.
VIS Group experts prepared pre-design calculations of passenger flow and the possible cost of creating a new transport infrastructure. As a result of the meeting, it was decided to forward the proposals justifying the inclusion of the metro line in the south in the draft Long-Term General Plan of St. Petersburg.

The government of St. Petersburg held a meeting to examine the possibility of building a subway line to the satellite town of Yuzhny.
