Water treatment complex in Solnechnogorsk is at about 40% readiness

VIS Group’s construction division is participating in the implementation of the tasks of the "Ecology" national project and the "Volga Recovery" federal program. In addition to the existing complex, a modern water treatment system with a capacity of 27,000 m3 per day is being built Solnechnogorsk. Wastewater that comes here will undergo multi-stage filtration and purification before being discharged into the Sestra River through the Ekaterininsky Canal -  the main waterway of the Klinsky District of the Moscow Region, part of the Volga River basin.

As of today, the construction of the mechanical treatment building is 80% complete. Concreting, internal waterproofing and installation of service platforms for nitri-denitrification aeration tanks have been completed, and 80% of the process equipment has been installed. Concrete work is ongoing at the post-treatment building, primary settling tanks, sludge pumping station, administrative/maintenance and production complexes. Concreting work on the secondary settling tanks has been completed; preparations are underway for hydraulic testing and installation of an overflow tray. This is an important component of biological wastewater treatment, i.e., removal of excess sludge. The overall construction readiness of the entire complex is about 40%.

The current treatment facilities were built in 1971 and are now obsolete and worn out. To prevent emergency discharges in the event of failure of some of the facilities, a new modern water treatment system is being built. Wastewater comes here from residential and industrial development in Solnechnogorsk, the villages of Smirnovka and Timonovo; the number of people served exceeds 60,000.

The new infrastructure being created will allow for a full cycle of mechanical and biological water treatment with subsequent disinfection. As a result of the project, the concentration of residual pollutants will be reduced to the water quality requirements of fishery facilities.
