Aide to the President of the Russian Federation Igor Levitin proposed to consider an extension of the highway being constructed as part of a bridge concession project in Novosibirsk

A presentation of the Novosibirsk City Railway project was held at the Siberian Transport Forum. Its route will partially pass along a branch of the Trans-Siberian Railway parallel to the main course of the bridge under construction across the Ob. Aide to the President of the Russian Federation Igor Levitin, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Alexander Zhukov and Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Siberian Federal District Anatoly Seryshev, together with the Governor of the Novosibirsk Region Andrey Travnikov, traveled along the "city train" route from the Ob station to the center of Novosibirsk.

During the trip, the distinguished forum guests were able to see the scale of work on the construction of the bridge and approaches to it, as well as the right-bank pylon. Dmitry Pronchatov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the VIS Group’s Transport Division, and Vladislav Vavilin, Deputy CEO of VIS Production Company, spoke about the ongoing work. More than 1,300 people are now employed at the sites, which is the highest figure since the start of the concession project.

Igor Levitin suggested considering an extension to the main course of the high-speed chord under construction towards 2nd Stantsionnaya Street and the airport outside the city. This will significantly improve traffic in one of the currently busiest areas of the Novosibirsk urban agglomeration.

The total length of the road infrastructure being created exceeds 5 km. The deadline for the completion of work under the terms of the concession agreement remains unchanged: it is still slated for completion by the end of 2023, after which the VIS Group will carry out the technical and commercial operation of the high-speed chord for 20 years.
