An agreement is signed between VIS Group and the Trans-Baikal Territory at the Eastern Economic Forum

On the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, an agreement was concluded regarding the development of a public-private partnership (PPP) project to create a museum and historical complex in Chita. The document was signed by the Governor of the Trans-Baikal Territory Alexander Osipov and Deputy CEO of VIS Group Artyom Melikhov.

The project concept involves the construction of a five-story building with a total area of over 10,000 m2. It will house exhibitions about the history, culture and nature of the Trans-Baikal region. The new museum complex is intended to become an additional tourist point of attraction. It will create 100 jobs for researchers, museum curators, restorers, artists and many other specialists.

“The Transbaikal region is unique. It has a unique archeological profile, a long and rich history, but today we are exhibiting a mere 8% of the archival funds. We do not have enough archival storage and exhibition space. This is our chance to become the center of cross-border tourism, a center where educational programs and master classes will be held and souvenir retail spaces will be located,” said the Minister of Culture of the Trans-Baikal Territory Irina Levkovich.

PPP projects in the social sphere are one of VIS Group’s key business areas. The holding is currently building the largest cultural cluster in the Russian Far East - the State Philharmonic and the Arctic Center for Epic Literature and the Arts in the capital of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). An art school, the first SMART library in the region and the Yu.A. Gagarin Center for Culture and Contemporary Art. The holding acts as a private partner, investor, designer and general contractor of construction in PPP projects, and after commissioning of facilities, it is responsible for their technical operation.

The Eastern Economic Forum is being held in Vladivostok from September 10 to 13. As part of regional expositions, it presents VIS Group’s largest investment projects in the Russian Far East - the Khabarovsk Bypass expressway commissioned in 2022, a cultural cluster in Yakutsk and a concession project to create a bridge across the Lena River in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
