Dismantling of tower cranes at the pylon of the new bridge in Novosibirsk has been completed

VIS Group completed the dismantling of two tower cranes that were engaged in the construction of a 114-meter pylon of the bridge over the Ob River. The work was carried out during the New Year holidays.

Tower cranes with a height of 131.6 and 119.6 meters were dismantled in stages using a six-axle truck crane with a lifting capacity of 400 tons. The builders also completed the dismantling of two of the three temporary supports of the cable-stayed section of the bridge on Engineer Budagov Square. Currently, preparations are underway for the construction of an underground chamber intended to accommodate communications. It will protect them from external influences and simplify the maintenance and repair process. For pylon maintenance, technological shafts located inside both racks will be used. Access to the upper landings will be provided via stairs.

The cable-stayed bridge section appeared due to the need to ensure its connection to Ippodromskaya Street, for which the bridge passed over the existing overpass on Engineer Budagov Square. The pylon is built on a foundation that reaches a maximum depth of 27.5 meters from the top of the grillage. The maximum dimensions of the pylon section are 9 by 6.8 meters, the minimum dimensions are 4.6 by 6.8 meters. The pylon uses cables to hold the continuous metal bridge span over 380 meters long, the total weight of which is more than 21,000 tons. The cable stays increase the rigidity of the bridge structure – it will be able to withstand an earthquake with an amplitude of up to 7 points, and the passage of 100-ton trucks.

To date, the construction readiness of the bridge crossing is 85%; the road surface has already been laid; a small amount of work remains to be done: painting the pylon and spans, installing lighting masts and applying road markings.
