New water treatment complex in Solnechnogorsk more than 20% complete

Modernization of wastewater treatment facilities continues in the village of Osipovo in Solnechnogorsk Urban District, Moscow Region. This construction project of VIS Group is part of the Ecology National Project and the Volga Revitalization Federal Project.

The existing wastewater treatment facilities in the village of Osipovo were built in 1971. Wastewater comes here from residential and industrial development in Solnechnogorsk, the villages of Karpovo, Talaevo, and Timonovo. The municipal infrastructure facility serves more than 60,000 people. At the moment, the equipment is obsolete, the biological treatment indicators do not meet the standard values. Therefore, on the existing site with an area of almost 190,000 m2, new treatment facilities are being built using modern water treatment and sludge treatment technologies. The upgraded complex will have a capacity of 27,000 m3 per day, with a maximum capacity of 1,744 m3 per hour.

Concreting works are currently 50% complete. Steel reinforcements are being prepared and the walls of the biochemical wastewater treatment tank are being reinforced, welding and assembly works are in progress. The necessary equipment has been purchased. The overall construction readiness of the treatment facilities is currently at 22%.

The project to modernize the treatment plant complex in Solnechnogorsk is part of a federal project aimed at the environmental improvement of the Volga River basin. It is being implemented in several regions of Russia and is designed to reduce the volume of polluted wastewater discharge by 3 times. The commissioning of the new treatment facilities is scheduled for November 2024. As a result of the project implementation, the residual pollutant concentration will be reduced to conform to the water quality requirements for fishery facilities on the Sestra River.
