The road surface of the main course of the Mytishchi Expressway is 40% ready

Work on laying the top (finishing) layer of asphalt concrete has been completed on 6 out of 16 km of the highway under construction in the Moscow region. All layers of the road pavement base have been laid on a 10 km-long section, over 8 km of which have been asphalted with the first layer of pavement. VIS Group engaged over 200 units of special equipment and employs about 1,000 people in the construction of the Mytishchi Expressway.

Strict adherence to the road pavement laying technology is ensured by VIS Group’s own asphalt paving complexes, which are equipped with a 3D system for online monitoring of all parameters. The asphalt concrete is produced right at the construction site; there is an automated asphalt concrete plant (ACP) with a capacity of up to 240 tons per hour. Asphalt plant ensures accurate dosing of raw materials and high quality of the produced mixture. The top surface of the route is made of crushed stone mastic asphalt concrete (SMAC), a modern high-strength and durable material used on highways and airport runways. The service life of such a coating, even taking into account heavy traffic, reaches 20 years.

Simultaneously with the laying of the road surface, noise barriers and lighting masts are installed. A total of over 1,300 light poles will be installed to illuminate the route. The construction of artificial structures continues, more than 90% of bridges and overpasses are in operation, including crossings across Ostashkovskoye and Pirogovskoye highways, the Povedniki - Belyaninovo highway and Bezymyannaya Street. A tunnel-type overpass with a length of 43 meters is being built at the intersection of the new highway with the Old Yaroslavl Highway. Work on the reconstruction of the main gas pipeline is being completed - a trench has been developed, 2,096 of the 2,309 meters of pipes have been welded. In total, 85% of the utilities located in the construction zone were reconstructed.

The Mytishchi Expressway is one of the largest road projects in the Moscow region and the first concession in the industry implemented on a private initiative. The investor of the project is the VIS Group. The route will pass through 11 bridges and overpasses and 6 transport interchanges from Yaroslavskoye to Dmitrovskoye highway. Under the framework of the state contract, the Group also committed itself to reconstructing a 3-kilometer section of Afanasovskoye Highway, which will ensure safety and high speed of traffic flows when exiting the highway onto Dmitrovskoye Highway. As a result of the implementation of the concession project, transport accessibility is expected to improve for almost a million residents of the Moscow region.
