A decision was made to admit VIS Group to the Association of Infrastructure Investors and Lenders. AIIL acts to consolidate the industry agenda, attract private investment in the country's infrastructure, as well as improve the mechanisms of extra-budgetary financing and public-private partnerships in the field of infrastructure construction.
VIS Group was one of the first in Russia to get involved in attracting private investment in infrastructure development projects. The first PPP agreement was signed in 2013. During this time, over 150 billion rubles in extrabudgetary funds were attracted to projects. One of the largest portfolios of concessions and PPP projects in Russia has been formed. It is estimated at more than 600 billion rubles.
“VIS Group has significant experience and competencies as a qualified investor. As part of AIIL, the holding is ready to work towards attracting extra-budgetary investments to develop infrastructure and improve PPP mechanisms,” said Vadim Kalinin, executive director of AIIL.
The Association has united the largest players in the infrastructure construction market across all industries in order to jointly develop effective tools for improving the country’s infrastructure. AIIL members include Sberbank, VTB, Dom.RF, Avtodor and Avtoban companies.
“We regard joining the AIIL as an additional opportunity to participate in the formation of initiatives aimed at developing the PPP market and infrastructure,” commented Sergei Romashov, Chairman of VIS Group’s Board of Directors.
VIS Group is already a member of the largest professional communities in Russia - the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and the National Association of Concessionaires and Long-Term Investors in Infrastructure. The holding’s representatives regularly participate in the most important economic and industry forums and act as experts in various consulting associations under government agencies.
