VIS Group set to place a pilot issue of digital financial assets (DFA)

VIS Group plans to place a pilot issue of digital financial assets (DFAs) in the amount of up to 0.5 billion rubles. The issuer is the holding’s parent company, VIS Group (Joint Stock Company), and the platform is Alfa-Bank’s A-token platform. The collection of applications runs until 15:00 (Moscow time) on February 22. The purpose of the issue is to develop modern formats for attracting private investment in infrastructure projects.

Digital financial assets are a new investment tool that allows you to diversify your portfolio and work with secondary market assets. The DFA market is relatively young in Russia, with a trend towards active growth observed since 2022. In many ways, the placement mechanism is similar to issuing bonds, but is more progressive in terms of procedure organization and transparency, while simultaneously satisfying the demand of modern investors to protect their investments using blockchain technologies.

“VIS Group uses a variety of tools to attract extra-budgetary funding for infrastructure projects, and the DFA is no exception,” commented Dmitry Suvorov, Deputy CEO for Economics and Finance. “The first placement will allow us to evaluate the new tool and the prospects for its further use.”

VIS Group has been present on the capital market since 2017, when it created a positive precedent by issuing securities under a non-concession public-private partnership project. Later, the holding placed the first social bonds in Russia, for which it received an industry award. Previously, there were no issuers in the country that issued securities in accordance with the Social Bond Principles (SBP) of the International Capital Markets Association (ICMA). The holding program in the amount of 30 billion rubles has also been registered on the Moscow Exchange, with 10 billion rubles already placed in exchange-traded bonds.
